Incoming freshman students interested in attending Covington Catholic High School must take the High School Placement Test (HSPT). Online registration (including a $20.00 test fee plus $.50 online registration convenience fee) will be available by mid-November.
Special Circumstances
Parents of students requiring accommodations on the HSPT must contact Tony Barczak. An Authorization for Release of Accommodation Information will need to be submitted two weeks in advance of taking the test.
If you do not take the test on the Diocesan-wide testing date in December, you may still take the exam at Covington Catholic on a makeup date. Please contact the Admissions Director, Tony Barczak at (859) 448-2247 to schedule your testing date.
If a student has taken the HSPT at a different school but wishes for a copy of the results to be sent to Covington Catholic, he must indicate CCH # 36475 on the testing form. Mr. Barczak can assist you with getting this information from another school as well.
For a student to be eligible for merit scholarships, he must take take the exam at CCH in December to qualify.
Although not necessary, students that wish to prepare for the placement test may be interested in obtaining a copy of the Kaplan or Barron's COOP/HSPT (How to Prepare for Catholic High School Entrance Examinations). These can be found through the school's link to amazon.com (type in HSPT in search bar) or by clicking on the link above.
