 We had additional information that came in late yesterday so we decided to issue an addendum to this week's Blue Notes.

 

 REMINDER: 

 THE CHAMBER CHOIR NEEDS YOUR VOTES AGAIN!!!

Thanks to all who voted during the USBank Christmas Carol Contest. The CCH Chamber Choir came in 2nd place! They won a $500 donation to the school’s music program and 30 tickets to attend the final dress rehearsal of A Christmas Carol on Tuesday, November 29th.

They have now submitted an entry into the Christmas Carol Contest on WARM 98. The prize would be a new piano for the school from Henderson Music. Voting can be done with one vote per email address per day (so if you have two email addresses, we hope you use them both). Please Vote  by registering your email address on the right side of the page and vote for "I'll Be Home For Christmas." Please pass this on to all your friends and ask them to vote. Voting lasts through Friday December 2nd.

 

KICK OFF YOUR HOLIDAY SPIRIT WITH THE CCH CHRISTMAS CONCERT SUNDAY

The CCH Christmas Concert will be held this Sunday, December 4th in the Griffin Alumni Centre. The Chamber Choir performs at 2:00 and the CCH/NDA band performs at 3:15 with intermission in between.  All are invited!

Graduate Services has extended the deadline for ordering graduation announcements.  A representative will be at  Friday, December 9th at 7:15 a.m. to pick up orders or to answer any questions you might have. (Reminder:  you do not have to order a tassel or cap & gown.  Measurements were taken for the cap & gown and are covered with school fees.)

 

VOTE FOR EVAN TALKERS - LaRosa's MVP of the Week

Senior Evan Talkers holds school records in both Soccer and Football for his outstanding efforts while playing those two sports while a Colonel.  This week LaRosa's is honoring Evan as an MVP in their weekly contest.  Please give him the recognition he deserves by voting for Evan Talkers this week.

 

JOURNALISM CLASS NEEDS YOUR HELP!

The journalism class is looking for pictures on school-related events.  Pictures can be uploaded directly into our yearbook website at www.replayit.com.  This would be a big help to us.

 

CCH TIMES ISSUE II IS NOW AVAILBLE ON THE WEBSITE

The October/November  issue of the CCH Times (school newspaper) has been uploaded on the website as well as www.my.hsj.org/ky/parkhils/covcath.   

NEW STOCK MARKET CLUB FORMED

Introducing the CCH Stock Market Club

Meetings: The first meeting will be held on Wednesday December 7th, at 2:30 in room #204. Thereafter meetings will be held on designated Wednesday club meeting days and before school as needed in Lab #213 starting in January 2012.

Student President: Jr. Mitchell Hass

Stock Market Club Overview: A variety of workshops, field trips, and speakers will be arranged to introduce the students to the world of investing. Students will also be able to participate in the Stock Market Game (http://www.stockmarketgame.com/) throughout the semester/year, to participate in real world investing.
The main goal of the SMC is to allow students the opportunity to learn about investing and the many possible career fields associated with Finance/Business.

SEMESTER EXAM SCHEDULE

Semester exams begin Monday, December 19th and will conclude Wednesday, December 21st.

2011

Monday, December 19                      8:00-9:15          7th Period Exam
                                                            9:30-10:45        6th Period Exam
                                                            11:00-12:15      5th Period Exam

 

Tuesday, December 20                      8:00-9:15          4th Period Exam
                                                             9:30-10:45        3rd Period Exam

 

 Wednesday, December 21               8:00-9:15          2nd Period Exam
                                                            9:30-10:45        1st Period Exam

 

Students can only be exempt from 1st semester exams for semester courses. A teacher is not required to grant exemptions for semester courses but if he or she does, a student is only eligible if he has earned a 93% or higher cumulative semester average and he returns the exemption form to his teacher by Friday, December 16.

Students need to report only to the classes in which they have exams.  If the student is exempt, he need not report to that class.  Students are free to go home after their last exam of the day.  There is no lunch served after December 16th. 

Please keep in mind that students with deficit tuition and cafeteria balances will not be permitted to take exams unless arrangements are made with Kristi Schwalbach (859-491-2247 ext. 2249) and Mary Lenihan (859-491-2247 ext. 2251).
