AND SO IT BEGINS!!!
It has arrived, the long awaited day to become a Colonel! Tomorrow is the first day of school for the freshmen. They are to arrive by 7:50 a.m. in uniform and will be dismissed between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m. Regular school attire is required (dress slacks, collared shirt, socks, shoes gym shoes are permitted with the exception of Mass days). They will be given a planner, a card with their locker number and combination, and a sticker for in their planner with their name and schedule on it. They need to bring their tablets. Teachers will let them know what they will need for their classes. Any student who has not had his tablet configured must stay at 1:00 p.m. to do so (takes place in the cafeteria).
Monday will be the first full day for all students. Important Reminder:
- Due to the work being done on the Brent Spence Bridge, traffic has been horrendous every morning which I am sure you have already experienced. Once all the schools in the area are in session it will be even worse. Please make sure you allow sufficient time to get to school. Tardies will not be excused and three tardies will equal a detention!!!
- Remember because of the construction at CCH the driveway is now ONE WAY. All cars must enter at the traffice light at the south end of the parking lot (nearest the Gardens of Park Hills) and exit at the north end of the lot at the traffic light. You will not be able to drive up to the front of the building. Students are to be dropped off that the bottom of the aisle near the construction fence.
SCRIMMAGE VS. NCC TOMORROW TO BENEFIT TEAM "B"LEIVE AND ALS RESEARCH
Tomorrow night’s football scrimmage vs. Newport Central Catholic with kickoff beginning at 7:00 pm will benefit Team “B”elieve and A.L.S. Research. Team “B”elieve is an organization that was established to support Brian “B” Eviston, brother of CCH Football Coach Eddie Eviston, and his family as he battles A.L.S., more commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, as well as to support the broader A.L.S. community. The scrimmage is part of the Tom Potter Classic and all proceeds from the gate receipts as well as a “Split the Pot” will support Team “B”elieve. Cost of admission will be $6 for adults and $4 for students.
If you prefer to send your son's lunch money to school instead of using the online payment method, please have him drop his money in the box on the counter of the main office first thing in the morning. This helps to speed up the lunch line.
Tuesday. August 15th - Holy Day - No School
FIFTEEN MINUTE ROSARY SERVICE ON MONDAY MORNING
On Monday, August 14th, the first day of school, there will be a Rosary Prayer Service in the chapel at 7:30 am. We will ask our Blessed Mother to look over our CovCath community as we begin the new school year. We realize this will be a very busy morning which will prevent many (faculty/students) from attending. However, we invite you the parents to join in even if it is for only one decade of the Rosary. Praying the entire Rosary will take JUST FIFTEEN MINUTES. Let us all pray for a successful school year! Coach A
GRIFFIN STADIUM DEDICATION
Please join us as we celebrate our newly completed Dennis Griffin Stadium on Friday, August 18th. Festivities begin at 7:00 p.m. followed by the varsity home football game which kicks off at 7:30 pm. The game will also be broadcast on ESPN 1530 and FOXSports 1360, and will be the WCPO Channel 9 Game of the Week as part of the U.S. Marines Battle of the Gridiron Series. Other fun festivities will occur throughout the evening. Sponsors include The Kenny and Brian Williams Fund and Robert Ehmet Hayes & Associates.
