 OUR LADY OF FATIMA

On Saturday, September 9th, in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima, her Traveling Statue will be at Holy Name Catholic Church, 2422 Auburn Avenue in Cincinnati for a special blessing. This is sponsored by Mary’s Mantle for Life, joined by LIFE’S 5TH QUARTER, to celebrate Mass as part of a weekly “Prayer Vigil for Life” which includes a pro-life Mass, Eucharistic Exposition and Benediction, with a Rosary procession after Mass to Planned Parenthood on Auburn Avenue, just a few blocks from the Church.  All are welcome to pray with us for JUST TWO HOURS to bring an end to abortion and return our country to a Culture of Life.

SENIOR MASS AT THE CATHEDRAL MONDAY

On Monday, September 11, the seniors go to the cathedral by bus to celebrate Mass with all the seniors in the diocese.  Bishop Foys is the celebrant.   The students from all nine high schools and the faculty who accompany them  occupy the entire Cathedral. Unfortunately there is not enough seating for parents to attend.  Please remind your son to wear his Mass attire to school on Monday.

INTRAMURAL BOWLING LEAGUE SIGN-UPS TO BEGIN SOON

Don't miss out on the fun! CCH has been running an intramural bowling league for years. It's a great way to meet new friends, be as social or as serious as you want (because we do keep stats), but all in all it's just about spending time with fellow CCH classmates outside of class once a week until Christmas break.

There will be representatives’ setup each morning starting the week of September 11th in the school entrance for signups. They will also have all the details (dates, times, fees, etc). The signup deadline will be Sept 22nd. The first week of bowling will be Wednesday, Sep 27th.

Hint: CCH has a competitive Varsity bowling team – this is a great way for starters to learn the game, work on skills and get some lane time!

Attention ALL Spanish speakers (or wannabes)

Senora and Mrs. Stengle are planning a one week tour to Spain next summer.

Mark your calendars for Thursday, September 14 – That’s the date for our informational meeting about this tour.  We plan on departing June 6, 2018 for an eight day tour of Spain.   Any student and or parent/family is welcome to join us to learn more about our grand adventure.  There are no European tours available with all these features at a lower price.

This will be our fourth year of European tours with EF.  Everything is included in the tour price, (except lunch every day), especially our very own 24/7 EF tour guide.  This professional guide meets us at the airport and travels with us the whole time.  This is a great opportunity for your son to become a global citizen – learning about different cultures, making new friends and seeing the world in a safe environment.  You will find detailed itineraries, plus all costs on this website.  (In addition, Senora and Mrs. Rasp will have tour handouts available at Parent Mini Night.)

If you can’t make our informational meeting, please check our tour online at

www.eftours.com/1924966ZH

Enroll by September 29, 2017, and you’ll be entered into a raffle to win one of five $100 scholarships for this tour!!

Please contact Mrs. Stengle at jstengle@covcath.org for more information.

FUTURE COLONES

See the attached list of upcoming activities for Future Colonels.  Also for other activities and happenings at CovCath click here to see the weekly newsletter.

CELL PHONES:

Cell phones are to be turned off and locked in the student's locker.  With all the tablets and various computers in the school, cell phones are logging onto the wifi and slowing it down. If a student is caught with his phone it could be taken for the day and DTs will be issued.

AMAZON REWARDS - Don't forget to use the Amazon link on the CCH website and on the bottom of this email when ordering from Amazon.  It costs nothing extra to you and CCH gets credit for the sale.  So far this year we  have been able to get an industrial size shredder and have replaced the refrigerator in the faculty dining room.    YouTube

SEPEMBER LUNCH MENU - LUNCH MONEY
If you prefer to send your son's lunch money to school instead of using the online payment method, please have him drop his money in the box on the counter of the main office first thing in the morning.  This helps to speed up the lunch line.

FATHER/SON EVENT

This year's Father Son Event will be starting earlier than initially scheduled.  Registration will begin Sunday October 1 at 12:00 and kick-off ceremonies will start at 12:30 in the gym.  This year we are adding new events that include a speed pitch machine and soccer dart board as well as a wiffle ball event.  Don't miss the chance to spend a great afternoon with your son.  The cornhole event is also being modified so more teams can participate beyond the throw-in stage.  Finally, there is a chili cook off at the beginning of the day and we need as many volunteers as possible to bring in a pot of their favorite chili recipe.  If you have any questions, please email Brad Hanna at FatherSonEvent@CovCath.org.

ROSARY SERVICES ARE NOW HELD FOUR DAYS EACH WEEK

Beginning this school year, the COLONELS FOR LIFE will be praying the Rosary in the Chapel on Monday mornings at 7:30 am as part of LIFE'S 5TH QUARTER'S DOOR PROGRAM (DAY OF ONE ROSARY) for a return to a Culture of Life.  On Friday mornings at 7:00 am (15 minutes before Mass) we will pray a Rosary for vocations coming from our CovCath community, for Bishop Foys, and the priests in our Diocese.

By adding these two additional Rosary Services, it will provide more opportunity for students and adults to attend a Rosary Service at CovCath since we have had in place for many years a Rosary Service on both Tuesday and Thursdays at 7:30 am which is sponsored by our Campus Ministry.

Please come and join us if your schedule permits. It only takes JUST 15 MINUTES and what a great way to begin your day!
