october 26, 2017 blue notes

Help support a clean environment and the CCH Green Ambassadors by bringing items to the Waste Collection on November 4th.

See the attached flyer for more details.

Online registration is open for the 2017 Back the Blue! This year, CCH will be using Gesture Mobile Bidding for our event (registration and silent auctions). Silent Auction items will be online in the next few weeks, but registration is open now at the link below.  Don't delay, the last 2 years have sold out by early November. Please join in the fun celebrating the "Spirit That Will Not Die"!

Do you have an item that you would like to donate to Back the Blue?  At the bottom of the link below, there is a button "Donate an item now".  You can tell the Back the Blue committee about your item and they will contact you about pick up or delivery.  What is needed??  Gift Cards, Event Tickets (Sports, Theater, Concerts, Etc.), Vacation Houses/Condos, Bourbon, and CCH Items are always a big hit (cash is always a great option as well).

Looking for the perfect Christmas gift for your CCH student, CCH alum, or soon to be CCH student? For the 3rd year in a row, Create Art And Gifts has their CCH merchandise available. They have a multitude of already designed canvas prints, options to upload your own picture on a canvas print, blankets, pillows, and more! Senior parents - plan ahead and buy your graduation gifts early. Remember to add promo code BACKTHEBLUE to your cart at checkout and 30% of proceeds go back to the school! Thank you Create Art And Gifts!

For those of you who start your Christmas shopping early and like to shop from home, here is the CovCath link to Amazon.  You will still get credit for your purchases and so with CovCath.  Credits earned for the school are used to purchase non-budgeted items that are needed.  For example, the refrigerator in the faculty lunch room died this fall.  With the credits built up in the CCH account, the refrigerator was replaced at no cost to the school.  It is easy...just log into your account using the following link:

You are basically donating to the school at no cost to you!  This program is good year round.

There will be a meeting on October 30, 2017 at 3:15 p.m., in Room 201 for students interested in Mock Trial.  Commitment to the team will include practices twice a week leading up to the Regional and State competitions as well as competing at the University of Kentucky and Chase College of Law tournaments.  The case this year is a murder case dealing with fraternity hazing.  This activity is a great opportunity for any student, even those not interested in becoming a lawyer.  A $50 activity fee will be changed if the student joins.  If a student cannot be present at the meeting please contact Stephanie Dietz at sdietz@dofamilylaw for more information.

Our school annually participates in the March for Life event in Washington D.C.  I have witnessed our level of participation having grown from 84 students in 2008, to 213 students last year.  Together with 11 parent chaperones and 8 faculty members, our five buses were part of a larger caravan totaling sixteen buses from the Covington diocesan high schools, parishes and youth groups to make this important journey.  Our Colonels represented nearly one quarter of the Diocese of Covington supporters.  (Click here for full letter & registration papers.)  Link to website page for:
