Welcome to Covington Catholic High School
On behalf of our students, faculty, staff, school board, coaches, parents and alumni, we welcome you to the website of Covington Catholic High School. It is our hope that you will find this new site an invaluable resource for finding any information you need in regards to our school. We are committed to updating the site on a daily basis. Be sure to check back often! Not only do we have a responsibility to keep our CCH community of students, parents and alumni informed, we appreciate the opportunity to spread the news of all the great things going on at Covington Catholic to the larger community.
Covington Catholic High School is the only all male high school in Northern Kentucky. The mission of CCHS is to embrace the gospel message of Jesus Christ in order to educate young men spiritually, academically, physically, and socially. We are a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education and are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Our faculty and our curriculum is designed to motivate and teach boys that allow them to thrive in ways that a co-ed environment can not. We understand that teenage boys learn and behave differently than teenage girls and embrace those differences instead of denying they exist.
We are celebrating our 86th school year of educating young men, and have graduated over 8,000 alumni. This year we will have 500 young men enrolled in our school with a faculty and staff of over 40 professionals with an average of 22 years of teaching experience. We are proud to note that the faculty who choose to work here are among the most talented and dedicated in the profession. Without their commitment, Covington Catholic would not be what it is.
Our academic mission, in word and practice, focuses on individual student excellence. We prepare young men for leadership in a global society that demands spiritual vision, excellence in character, and intellect. For eighty-six years, this vision and mission has distinguished our school as well as our graduates.
We continually assess the issues of college access for our graduates and we gear our curriculum accordingly. We continue to move forward in our goal to be the most technology advanced private school in NKY and have added two additional graphics and CAD classes this fall. We offer 10 Advanced Placement classes in addition to classes taught by Thomas More College on our campus for college credit. This past school year, Covington Catholic's average ACT score was 25.5 (based on highest composite of each senior) and our senior class of 118 students received over $9.9 million in scholarship offers, a record for our school.
We continue a tradition of educating service-oriented students and proudly proclaim a spiritual life as one of our values. Our students consistently contribute over 16,000 hours of service to more than 190 community organizations. One hundred percent of our student body participates in at least one of the 40 sports and extracurricular activities offered by the school. Our athletic teams successfully compete among the best in the region and most of our teams have won state titles.
Our future continues to pose both promise and challenge. This new decade has already proven to be full of promise with the opportunity to expand our campus with additional property which will secure our growth for years to come.
More of our students' families need tuition assistance, our classrooms need more technology, and we have some wonderful opportunities for capital projects to enhance our campus. Like all non-profit organizations in this economic situation, our need for your support is greater than ever. The positive energy within our school is contagious and we are filled with great hope we can continue with our growth.
