Upcoming Reunions

Classes of 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2013

On October 19th, the following classes will be celebrating their reunion at CCH, 1983, '88, '93, '98, '03, '08, '13. These groups will be invited back to Park Hills to take a tour of the school before the game at 5:45 PM, enjoy the battle of the Colonels as CCH plays Dixie Heights at 7:30, followed by a post game celebration in the gym. Click here to register and RSVP for the night. The $10 cost covers the food after the game and a few drink tickets. Tickets to the football game will be purchased at the main gate to the stadium. Class of 1978 - Classmates are invited back for the weekend of October 13th, 2018. Friday, October 12 will include an informal golf game - time and place to be determined. Then on Saturday, along with wives/significant others, we will go on a bus ride to Keeneland. The day will begin with a Memorial Mass at 8:30 a.m. followed by donuts and coffee in the cafeteria. The bus will depart from CCH at 10 am sharp (beverages and snacks on the bus are included). Departure from Keeneland will be at 6 p.m.

Class of 1968 - 50th Class Reunion Sept. 14-16, 2018

More details to follow soon, but some highlights include:

Friday – Tour of the school and renovations, followed by 7 p.m. home football game vs. Beechwood (‘68ers sit as group; free admission); private postgame reception for Class of ’68 members in the CovCath gym.

Saturday – Reunion private party, 5-10 p.m., for Class of ’68 members at Pee Wee’s on Anderson Road, Crescent Springs

Sunday – Mass at noon, celebrated by our classmate, Rev. Charlie Stander, at The Inn at Oneonta in Melbourne, followed by buffet lunch (open to Class of ’68 members and spouses/dates)

Class of 1963 - Our reunion will be the weekend of September 14 & 15, 2018. On Friday afternoon (9/14), we will play golf at Twin Oaks. The tee times will be 12:30, so we can take advantage of the senior rates ($30) & go right to CCH afterward. Friday night, starting at 5:30 pm, we will have a stag at Covington Catholic. We will be recognized as a class at halftime of the CCH v. Beechwood game. Dinner before the game drinks after. The cost is $23 and includes dinner, snacks, and adult beverages. Saturday is with spouse/girlfriend at 6:30pm at the CCH cafeteria. Cost is $30 per person. This includes dinner, snacks, and adult beverages. We will also have some music. Hope to see everyone there!

On Saturday September 10, 2016 the Class of 1956 celebrated their 60th anniversary. Twenty five members of the class and seventeen spouses met for dinner at Ft. Mitchell Country Club. Dave Thelen said grace before dinner and Jim Quinn read a congratulatory note from Bro. Jim Leahy S.M. Bro. Jim best known to us as “JL” ,our Math and Science teacher, was unable to attend. This was the first time he missed a reunion. For the record there were 72 of us that graduated in 1956 of which 21 are deceased.

CLASS OF 1957

The Class of 1957 came together for their 60 Year Reunion on Saturday, October 14th at PeeWee’s Place. There were 11 classmates in attendance along with 6 wives, and a great time was had by all as they caught up. They even had one member of the class travel from Salina, Kansas for the reunion. Special thanks to Tom Collins for organizing the event!

CLASS OF 1959






CLASS OF 1959 celebrated its 55th reunion on September 26, 2014, at the Griffin Centre Alumni Hall. There were about 26 attendees. "We just sat around and talked and had a good time."

CLASS OF 1960

The class of 1960 celebrated its 55th class reunion on August 29, 2015, at the Griffin Center. Fifty classmates enjoyed a buffet dinner and good conversation and look forward to the 60th.

Past Reunions - Classes '81 to '00

CLASS OF 1987

On Saturday, September 30th the CCH Class of 1987 got together with the NDA Class of 1987 and enjoyed a fun night at Oriental Wok. With over 30 members of the class in attendance, they spent the weekend with their CCH brothers, and a great time was had by all. Special thanks for Pat Noll and Craig Cleveland for putting together a great weekend.

CLASS OF 1991

The 25-year reunion celebration was held on Friday, September 30 and Saturday, Oct 1. Friday's festivities featured a couples event at PeeWee's Place in Crescent Springs. Thirty "91ers", most with significant others, were able to join for some good food, fun and fellowship. Thanks to Pee Wee and team for a wonderful evening! On Saturday, twenty members of the class met at Devou Golf Course for a spirited round of golf, sharing more memories, tall tales, and questinoable golf scores. Between Friday and Saturday, thirty-four Colonels were able to gather, have a great time, and be reminded of the special bond created during our time at Covington Catholic.

CLASS OF 1992

The CCH Class of 1992 celebrated their 35 Year Reunion on September 22nd with 40 of their classmates in attendance. They had dinner before the CCH football game, watched the Colonel Football team defeat St. Francis DeSales out of Columbus, and had a postgame gathering in the gymnasium. Thanks to Rick Lohre for helping coordinate the evening!

CLASS OF 1994







20th reunion - October 4 was filled with great times by those that attended the Class of '94's 20th reunion. Attendees cheered on the Colonel football team followed by a reception at the Griffin Centre. All were impressed with the upgrades in facilities while touring the shool (ooh to have had a/c back in the 90's.)

CLASS OF 1995

CCH Class of 1995 celebrated their 20 year reunion on September 19th. About 45 classmates gathered in the Griffin Centre Alumni Hall on Saturday night and enjoyed good food and music and great conversation and company. For many alumni, it was their first time seeing the updated building and grounds, which was a real treat. The class made a donation to CCH with the reunion proceeds in the names of Jon Gallenstein and Galen Healey. The 25th reunion can't come soon enough! Thanks to Zach Holbrook who organized the event.

Class of 1996






The 20-year reunion for the '96 Colonels was held at Keystone in Covington on Saturday, October 15th. The 40 Colonels in attendance reminisced about two football tate championships, Super Hike, chicken patty lunches, & the nicknames Krumps gave us during sophomore year Biology. Colonels Forever! #WithASpiritThatWillNotDie


CLASS OF 1997

On September 16th, the CCH Class of 1997 celebrated their 30 Year Reunion at a Cincinnati Reds game. They watched the Reds defeat the Pittsburgh Pirates with over 30 Colonels from the Class of ’97 in attendance. Special thanks to Matt Zumbiel for putting together a great event!








CLASS OF 1999

15th reunion - The Class of '99 got together on Oct. 4 for their 15 year reunion. The day started with watching the football game. After the game we all went into the school cafeteria to catch up over drinks and snacks while the 1997 Cov Cath/Highlands "Mud Bowl" played on the projector. A group of guys re-convened later in the evening at Dickmann's on Orphanage Rd. for more stories.

CLASS OF 2000

On September 26, the Class of 2000 held their 15 year reunion at the Griffin Alumni Center. The alumni that attended the reunion were treated to what was later voted as “The Best Night Ever”. After the speeches and autograph sessions with John Calipari, Boomer Esiason and Eric Davis were completed, the alumni enjoyed dinner catered by Chipotle. After dinner, there was an abundance of Euchre games played until the night was concluded with a private concert put on by the Foo Fighters. Thank you to all that attended!

CLASS OF 2001

The Class of 2001 reunion was an epic night. Within the first 30 minutes, the fight song was echoing inside the Saddle Club walls. It was great seeing the Colonels take care of business on the football field and even better to sing the fight song again with the Colonel Crazies at halftime. The night was concluded at PeeWee's, where the planning for the next reunion began.

CLASS OF 2004







10th reunion - Everyone met at Red Zone Bar & Grill at 11am before heading up to the football game. Afterwards we went over to the Griffin Centre to watch college football and play cards. We finished out the night at Dickmann's. Classmates came and went throughout the day. There were probably about 60 in attendance.

CLASS OF 2006

The Class of 2006 met on Saturday, November 26th for an NBA Draft style basketball tournament-- Griffin Wurtz was selected last. Classmates enjoyed refreshments from platinum sponsor, Labatt Blue Light Lime(tm), and Italian fare from double platinum sponsor, Buona Vita Pizzeria. Players reminisced about favorite Intramural Basketball League dunks, buzzer beaters, technical fouls, and career ending injuries. Congratulations to Team Schreiver for their victory.

That evening the class reconvened at Rhinegeist to show off significant others. Nobody was offended and we look forward to the opportunity to meet again.

Past Reunions - Classes '61 to '80

class of 1961

Our 55th anniversary of graduation from CCH was the 18th Class Reunion. The class celebrated on Sunday, September 18 in the Griffin Centre Alumni Hall. The event was chaired by Jerry Biedenharn and Rich Detzel. The 55th reunion was attended by 32 classmates plus wives of deceased classmates--Judy Shields, Cathy Guenther and Jeanne Moellering. Of the 120 that graduated in 1961, 32 are now deceased, three since the last reunion five years ago. Several classmates that were in attendance served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. It is truly an honor to have them and these guys never miss a reunion. Chair Jerry Biedenharn says: “I believe that the Class of 1961 is a perfect example of our Motto “With a Spirit that Will Not Die”. One thing for sure, we might be a little older but we are still full of Spunk!”

CLASS OF 1962

Colonels from the Class of 1962 got together for a great weekend September 8th and 9th at Covington Catholic as they enjoyed a stag on Friday night, and a couple’s dinner on Saturday night. On Friday night more than 40 alums came out and enjoyed dinner, a tour of the school from the Alumni Director, and told stories of the old school and the 1962 Swimming State Championship. On Saturday night more than 50 people were in attendance as they enjoyed a couple’s dinner and a tour of the newly renovated Dennis Griffin Stadium. A big shout out to the reunion committee for putting together such a wonderful weekend!

CLASS OF 1964

50th Reunion - Members of the Class of '64 started their reunion weekend with golf Friday morning. Later that same day a stag was held in the cafeteria where the class presented Principal Rowe with a check for $6400 followed by a memorial service for the 22 deceased classmates. Saturday's event was a joint reunion with LaSalette, Notre Dame & Villa Madonna Academies at Fort Mitchell Country Club.

CLASS OF 1965

The Covington Catholic Class of ’65 joined the “Golden” era with their 50 year class reunion on October 9th and 10. The reunion weekend started with a golf scramble at Boone Links on Friday morning followed by a stag in the Alumni Centre that evening. Approximately 50 alums attended the stag to greet old friends and recall high school memories. On Saturday afternoon a group attended the football game and enjoyed a tour of the school following the game. The reunion weekend concluded Saturday evening with a dinner dance at Summit Hills Country Club with music provided by the 50-60’s band DejaVu. A special moment of silence was held following dinner to remember Jim and Joe Corbett and 25 other members of the class that are deceased. Jim and Joe were tragically killed in their sophomore year returning home after a swim meet. The Corbett family was represented at the dinner by Jim and Joe’s sister Rose and her husband Mike. A special thanks goes out to all the alums for making this a special weekend.

The 50th Reunion was celebrated on September 16, 2016. The day started with a Skin Game at the Boone Links Golf Course. Skins were won by Dave Koester, George Scheper and Mick Burke.

At 4:00pm, there was a social hour in the Griffin Center follo,wed by a nice dinner catered by Chef Barone. Bob Rowe, Principal of CovCath, gave a talk about the many school programs and about the status of the current capital campaign. Sue Finke led the group of approximately 40 alumni on a tour of the school. After a short rain delay, we all settled in to watch the CovCath varsity football team beat Beechwood 44 to 10. At half-time, the group assembled on the field for acknowledgement of our 50-year reunion.

CLASS OF 1967

The Class of 1967 came back to Park Hills after 50 Years to celebrate the “Golden Colonel” Reunion on September 22nd. The CCH football team took on St. Francis DeSales from Columbus, Ohio that evening as the ’67 guys watched the game and reminisced about days before football existed at Covington Catholic. Special thanks to the 1967 reunion committee who helped put this great night together as more than 50 classmates from the Class of 1967 were in attendance.

CLASS OF 1972

On October 6th the CCH Class of 1972 came together to celebrate their 45 year reunion and had over 40 guys in attendance. They enjoyed watching the current Colonel Football team defeat Bishop Chatard out of Indianapolis followed by refreshments at the postgame gathering. Special thanks for Kevin Molony and the reunion committee for helping put together a fun night!

CLASS OF 1977

The 40 Year Reunion for the Class of 1977 took place on October 6th with 30 members of the class taking in a CCH football game, with dinner before the game and a postgame gathering after the game. They enjoyed looking at yearbooks from their “glory days” and their 4 years in the halls at CCH. Special thanks to Scott Schilling and the reunion committee for helping plan a fun night for all.

CLASS OF 2001

CLASS OF 2002

The Class of 2002 came together on October 6th, starting the evening at the Grandview Tavern for dinner and refreshments. Following dinner, they went to CCH and Dennis Griffin Stadium for a football game with over 30 of their Colonel classmates. Special thanks for putting together the event goes out to Ryan Riesenbeck and Matt Finke!

CLASS OF 2004

CLASS OF 2007

The CCH Colonels Class of 2007 came together on October 14th at Covington Catholic for their 10 Year Reunion. With over 70 classmates in attendance, these Colonels spent the day playing softball, basketball, and concluded their day at CCH with pizza in the cafeteria. They ended the night by taking a ride on “Big Blue” down to Covington thanks to Mr. Tony Barczak. Special thanks to Bill Schult and Mark Messingschlager for putting together a memorable event.

CLASS OF 2012

The youngest Colonel reunion of the 2017 calendar year saw the Class of 2012 enjoying a rain filled night for their 5 Year Reunion. These Colonels started their night with dinner at PeeWee’s Place, followed by a bus ride to CCH for the CCH vs Cooper football game. Even though it was raining all night, over 50 members from the class of 2012 braved the elements to watch the football team pull out a win. Thanks to Grant Guess for organizing the event as a great time was had by all in attendance.
