My name is Joey Schmidt and I am a 2012 graduate of Cov Cath and current Senior at the University of Louisville. I am also the Operations Director for raiseRED Dance Marathon, the largest student run philanthropy on UofL's campus which fund raises money for the children at the University of Louisville Hospital's Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Clinic. Every year we raise thousands of dollars and celebrate at the end of every February with an 18 hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon. This year, marking my 4th year on the leadership team for raiseRED, I have a goal of personally raising $5,000. If I do so I am going to shave my precious hair! I am writing to you to see if Cov Cath would like to be a part of helping me out, whether that be a coin drive, out of uniform day that benefits raisered, or even just posting on social media accounts. I would appreciate any help I could get towards reaching my goal. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you are interested in helping out this great cause.

Andrew Klare and his sister Jennifer (Klare) Nash (NDA 1999) have created a GoFundMe account to help fund a handicapped accessible van for their brothers, Nicholas (CCH 2004) and Nathan (CCH 2007). Nick and Nathan both have a rare neuromuscular disease called Charcot Marie Tooth disease (diagnosed during their years at CCH) which requires home and vehicle accommodations to enable their mobility and help their caregivers.
