2020 Covington Catholic Lacrosse
Lacrosse has been deemed the fastest growing sport in America, and the fastest sport on two-feet. This is understandable since it incorporates a number of fundamentals from various sports; football, hockey, soccer, wrestling, basketball, and track and field.
Registration starts in January. The season runs March through May and is considered a contact sport. Each team has 10 players on the field at one time. The team's objective is to move a small ball down the field, using a long stick (crosse) to get the ball into the opponent's goal. This is a no-cut sport with JV and Varsity levels available.
* It is important to note that Lacrosse is not a sanctioned sport in Kentucky by KHSAA. Therefore, Covington Catholic offers participation as a Club Sport.
Be ready when the season starts and complete the necessary forms for registration. Waivers, Player's Information Forms, KHSAA Form (Physical must be valid through May), Registration Fee, and U.S. Lacrosse # will all be required. (Got to www.USlacrosse.org to register or renew your US Lacrosse #. US Lacrosse # must be valid through May of current season.)
Equipment needed to play Lacrosse: Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Elbow Pads, Mouthpiece, Gloves, Cleats, Stick and Head (Crosse). (Cup is not required but highly encouraged.)
