2017 BACK THE BLUE

On behalf of the Back the Blue committee—We would like to thank so many people for helping make Back the Blue the most successful event we’ve had in “Back the Blue” history!  We are grateful to our sponsors, donors, gift-gathering party hosts, attendees, and all the people who bid on items from afar if they were unable to attend on Saturday night.  Each & every contribution, big or small, is greatly appreciated and made a difference!  If you would still like to sign up for any of the sign-up parties you can contact Christa Ellison at cellison@covcath.org.  We thank you and look forward to seeing you at our next Back the Blue on November 17, 2018.

SKI CLUB NEWS

Colorado Ski Trip Mandatory Parent & Student Meeting – Wed. Dec 6,  7:30am

There will be a mandatory parent and student meeting for all those students signed up to go to Winter Park this coming February.  (If you were a chaperone last year, you do not need to attend this meeting.)  The meeting will take place in the Cafeteria before school on Wednesday, December 6 at 7:30am.

Detailed scheduling and information about transportation, meals, accommodations, equipment rentals and packing will be discussed at this meeting.   Medical and food allergy forms will be available (these forms must be submitted by 12/16).  Also, since final payments are due soon, PLEASE bring current credit card info or a check for your balance due ($739) to this meeting.  If you reconsidered and wish to purchase trip insurance ($46), you can add that to your balance due amount at the meeting.  I will also have a few extra Ski Club Sweatshirts for sale at $25, if you failed to place your order earlier this year.  (Our CCH ski club sweatshirt is our approved travel wear for the trip!)

If you are unable to make this meeting, please contact jstengle@covcath.org

BASKETBALL NEWS

Parents, please note that if your son participates in Basketball the athletic fees are being added to your FACTs account this week.

The fee amount is $150.00 for the first son and $100.00 for the second son.  These payments will auto-deduct on November 27th, unless you are on an invoice agreement.

If you have already paid an athletic fee this year for another sport, you will not be charged again.

If you have any questions, please contact me at kschwalbach@covcath.org.

ONLY 33 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

For those of you who start your Christmas shopping early and like to shop from home, here is the CovCath link to Amazon.  You will still get credit for your purchases and so with CovCath.  Credits earned for the school are used to purchase non-budgeted items that are needed.  For example, the refrigerator in the faculty lunch room died this fall.  With the credits built up in the CCH account, the refrigerator was replaced at no cost to the school.  It is easy...just log into your account using the following link:

http://amzn.to/2xThmn7

You are basically donating to the school at no cost to you!  This program is good year round.

NOVEMBER LUNCH MENU

MARCH FOR LIFE

Our school annually participates in the March for Life event in Washington D.C.  I have witnessed our level of participation having grown from 84 students in 2008, to 213 students last year.  Together with 11 parent chaperones and 8 faculty members, our five buses were part of a larger caravan totaling sixteen buses from the Covington diocesan high schools, parishes and youth groups to make this important journey.  Our Colonels represented nearly one quarter of the Diocese of Covington supporters.  (Click here for full letter & registration papers.)  Link to website page for:

EUROPEAN TRAVEL CLUB

Attention ALL Spanish speakers and Pilgrims

Senora and Mrs. Stengle are planning a tour to Spain and Portugal in June 2019

We’ll depart June 4, 2019, for 10 days in Spain and Portugal.  What a great opportunity to enjoy Spanish culture and food, while speaking the language!!  This tour will also stop in Fatima, at the site of Marian apparitions, (just 100 years ago!)

If you missed our informational meeting, you can still check out our tour details and pricing online at www.eftours.com/2057633XN

We are beginning enrollments early for this trip, because of the pricing incentives offered by EF Tours.  If you commit by November 30, there is a $200 signing bonus toward the price of the tour.  You can reserve your spot (and your price) with just a $95 enrollment fee (per family member or student) at

 www.eftours.com/2057633XN

This will be our fourth year of European tours with EF.  Everything is included in the tour price, (except lunch every day), especially our very own 24/7 EF tour guide.  This professional guide meets us at the airport and travels with us the whole time.  This is a great opportunity for your son to become a global citizen – learning about different cultures, making new friends and seeing the world in a safe environment.  Having been to Fatima, I am particularly excited to share this amazing place with my students.

As always, parents and siblings are welcome to join our tour.

Please contact Mrs. Stengle at jstengle@covcath.org for more information.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
