CCH Corps of Cadets

Obstacle Course & Rappel Tower Event 11/1 9:00 am - 1:30 pm

This event is open to all students, but you MUST pre-register and MUST return the permission/waiver form (signed by a parent/guardian) by Friday, 10/29 to participate. Click the buttons below to register online and download the permission form.

The event is on the JROTC course at Grant County High School (715 Warsaw Rd, Dry Ridge, KY 41035); personal transportation to/from the event is required. Arrive by 8:45 am for the 9:00 am start.

Wear long pants & long sleeves, gloves, and gym shoes and bring your own water. The day will be fun, but strenuous.

A pizza lunch will be provided by the Army Nat'l Guard.

CLUB DESCRIPTION

What:         Club focused on military interest, leadership, and citizenship:

Military & Citizenship

  • Color Guard for CCH events (earn service hours)
  • Speakers with military experience (including recent CCH alumni)
  • Learn about college and enlisted military programs and careers

Leadership

  • Coordinate service projects such as (USMC) Toys for Tots toy drive
  • Identify and schedule speakers or other events
  • Become a corps officer

Fun – Field trips may include:

  • Air Force Museum in Dayton
  • Veterans’ Honor Flight return at CVG
  • Military style training such as obstacle course or navigation training exercise

WHO:          Anyone interested - All grades.  Attend and participate as your schedule permits. 

WHEN:        Meetings before school about 1-2X/month. 

Moderator: Mrs. Jill Franxman (son Logan Franxman – CCH 2017 -- is USMC 2nd Lieutenant)

PAST EVENTS

Past events have included:

1) Color guard flag presentations at games & school assemblies (you will be trained and receive equipment);

2) attend an Honor Flight Welcome Home Rally (9/21/21 and 10/19/21), get service hours;

3) A "Military Training Day" with the Army National Guard: drills, lunch of MREs, and paintball;

4) A toy drive for the Marines' Toys for Tots (we raised over $1000 worth of toys in 2016);

4) Other speakers: active duty or veterans, and/or maybe focused on learning about college ROTC programs and scholarships;

5) a trip to the Air Force Museum in Dayton (or similar).
