CYF benefits extend far beyond the confines of the field. Beyond the thrill of competition and the joy of camaraderie, this program fosters invaluable life skills such as teamwork, discipline, and resilience in young athletes. Colonel Youth Football provides a supportive environment where players can thrive both on and off the gridiron. With a commitment to safety, skill development, and sportsmanship, this program not only cultivates a passion for the game, but also lays the foundation for lifelong success.
The 2025 Colonel Youth Football Program had 189 Players and 6 Teams this Year playing in the Greater Cincinnati Youth Football League and Northern Kentucky Middle School Football League. Our 7th Grade and 6th Grade Teams made it to their respective Championship games and the 7th Grade beat Newport Central Catholic in a hard-fought defensive battle 8 to 6 avenging their only loss of the regular season. Our 6th Grade lost to the Hamilton Jr Rams 14 to 8.
Sign-ups for the upcoming CYF Season is now open through April 30th.
It is very important to go ahead and sign up now. I will be having meetings with the leagues in April to let them know how many teams we will be having. On June 1st, the leagues will start working on the schedules and I will not be allowed to add any teams.
The CYF goal this year is to have 10 teams. Our split number will be 35 and have team player numbers somewhere between 18 and 25.

Greater Catholic Youth League (GCYL)
CYF plays Cincinnati parish schools that will become the CCL in high school football (Moeller, Elder, St. X, LaSalle, Roger Bacon, etc.)
Guiding Principles of the GCYL:
- Catholic-based - Live it and exhibit it.
- True non-profit with complete transparency.
- A league dedicated to young people whom participate. An organization to provide structure and fairness to the schools who are affiliated.
- Committed to supporting and preserving parish programs of all sizes under one league entity, city-wide.
- A league governed by an elected board of officials who provide each parish with an opportunity to offer suggestions to change for the betterment of the kids who play.
- Commitment to support parish booster organizations that presently do not have programs, with an eye on creating parish-based football opportunities for potential players.
- Recognition of existing established programs in good standing with their existing leagues - NO ONE will be excluded.
- GCYL is committed to providing an exceptional experience for our parish families.
These represent the standards set by the league for all 2,500 kids and families who participate in the GCYL.
The GCYL requires the Families of each Player to be an active Member at a Catholic Parish in the Diocese to be eligible to participate in the League. The Player can go to a Public School and play if the Family is in a Parish.
Our 7th Grade Team plays in the NKMSL and their rule is all Players must attend a Parish Catholic School to participate.
