At Covington Catholic, our five levels of curriculum — College Prep 1, College Prep 2, Honors, AP, and Dual Credit—allow us to tailor academic work to each student's individual level, ensuring personalized and effective learning experiences. This differentiated approach benefits students by challenging them appropriately and supporting their unique needs. Additionally, our flexible scheduling system empowers students to excel by taking Honors or AP classes in subjects they are strong in while opting for lower-level classes in areas where they need more support. This adaptability ensures that every student can maximize their academic potential and achieve success across all subjects.

The Guidance Department provides comprehensive support to students as they navigate both academic and personal challenges. With a focus on individualized attention, our counselors guide students in setting goals, making informed decisions, and exploring opportunities that align with their aspirations. Additionally, the department offers valuable assistance with college preparation and application processes, helping students make informed choices about their higher education paths. By addressing each student's unique needs, the department helps them build confidence and prepare for the diverse opportunities and challenges they will encounter in their careers and lives.
Our STEM program offers a dynamic and hands-on learning experience, focusing on engineering through four core courses aligned with the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum. In addition to engineering, students can explore other areas such as computer science, graphic design, CAD, and animation, allowing them to build a well-rounded skill set for the future. With four certified teachers and seven consecutive years as a PLTW Distinguished School, our program has become a leader in STEM education. Over 25% of our students participate in one or more STEM courses, fostering innovation and critical thinking. We also offer a Robotics program that competes in VEX tournaments, consistently qualifying several teams for state and national competitions. In 2022, our team made history by winning the VEX Robotics National Championship and securing second place in the international competition.
